Amalia (Amy) Kaufman is a respected leader at the intersect of college and career partnerships with expertise in workforce development, intersegmental systems alignment, immersive technologies (AI, VR, and AR) in the classroom and industry, strategic planning, curriculum development, and instructional leadership. A well-organized, culturally attuned, and emotionally intelligent innovator, she is committed to the highest quality programs steeped in equity and access for all stakeholders. Amy is a thought leader on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the future of work, Human-Centered Design thinking, and K-14 college and career pathways.
As the former Executive Director of OC Pathways, funded by a $15 million grant from the California Department of Education, Amy led a consortium of fourteen K-12 districts, nine community colleges, four ROPs, several universities, and scores of community and business partners. The initiative expanded STEM-related career pathway programs in Orange County to thousands of high school and community college students who participated in biotechnology, engineering, health care, ICT, digital media arts, and advanced manufacturing pathways. As the statewide lead for the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, she led the initial architecture of the K12 Strong Workforce Program.
Amy is currently a faculty member at the University of California San Diego in the Department of Education and Behavioral Sciences and the K12 Strong Workforce Program Lead for the Los Angeles/Orange County Regional Consortium of Colleges. She has been an instructor at the high school, adult school, and community college level.
